Process to restart Vacansoleil started

The process to restart Vacansoleil after its bankruptcy has begun. Many interested parties have contacted liquidators mr. Ben Arends and mr. Lodewijk Hox. Also contact was made with guests who are on holiday or leaving at shortly. And calls were held with various campsite owners in Europe to discuss options. Vacansoleil experiences a lot of support from customers and campsite owners

Over the past weekend and in the coming days, the liquidators will work in close collaboration with Vacansoleil employees on a new future for the travel organization. The process of giving interested parties insight into the financial status of Vacansoleil has started. “The solid interest in Vacansoleil strengthens all of us in the belief that a restart is possible,” says liquidator Lodewijk Hox. “Vacansoleil is a strong, internationally recognized brand. Many camping owners want Vacansoleil to make a fresh start, acknowledging the importance of Vacansoleil for their own customer-flow.”

Encouraging

Immediately after the bankruptcy was declared, guests who were or were going on holiday were contacted. For most guests the travel fee is guaranteed by the Dutch Guarantee Travel Fund (SGR). For the customers outside this scheme, tailor-made solutions were sought for. Vacansoleil employees are surprised by the many expressions of support from customers. Liquidator Arends: “The support is extremely encouraging for the Vacansoleil employees who are working hard, even in these difficult times, to support camping guests where-ever possible.”

Market leader

The campsite owners where Vacansoleil owns or rents accommodations have been contacted. “Here we experience the desire of campsite owners to continue the collaboration with Vacansoleil. In these contacts we notice that Vacansoleil is truly the market leader in Europe in the field of camping holidays. For us, this is an important message for the parties that want to continue with this venture,” says Hox.
