The Camping Village Mare Pineta, a few kilometers from Trieste, overlooks the magnificent Baia di Sistiana, in a panoramic position of the Trieste's Gulf. The Camping Village is bordered by the famous Rilke'S path, a very suggestive walk overlooking the sea, which stretches from the Baia di Sistiana along the coast to reach the Castle of Duino. For a relaxing holiday there is also the swimming pool park, with solarium area overlooking the Trieste's Gulf. The pool area: an Olympic pool, a pool for toddlers and fun water games.
Art, culture, history and nature are all closely associated with Trieste. Famous for its monuments and buildings, the city offers an opportunity to admire a perfect fusion of cultures and traditions.
CASTLES AND NATURE RESERVES.
The holiday village is about 1 km away from Duino castle and about 10 km from the famous Miramare Castle.
The Cona Island Nature Reserve (about 15 km from the holiday village) is an extremely interesting excursion that offers the opportunity to enjoy the lagoon atmosphere.
CITY OF TRIESTE, CULTURAL EXCURSION.
Trieste is about 18 km from the village. Stroll around the charming city centre to discover its artistic and archi-tectural attractions.
FOOD AND WINE TOURISM.
The Terrano wine road is close to the holiday village, a route linking restaurants and trattorie that offer tradi-tional local dishes.
Local cuisine combines traditions from different areas (Veneto, Friuli, Slovenia and Austria).
MOUNTAIN BIKE TRIPS.
There are many different routes for discovering the Carso area with its historical sites and picturesque locations where time seems to have stood still.
CAVE TRIPS.
The Trieste Carso area has a rich array of natural cavities and caves. Don't miss a visit to the Grotta Gigante, the biggest visitable cave in the world. Just a few kilometres away in Slovenia you can visit the famous Postumia and San Canziano caves.
CLIMBING.
Falesie del Carso is an ideal location for rock climbing enthusiasts.
HORSE RIDING.
Go on trips through the Trieste Carso and admire the beauty of nature. Visit Lipica near the holiday village, a place which is famous for breeding Lipizzani horses.
Interesting walk through the city of Trieste to discover its artistic and architectonic beauty, which reached their peak during the Habsburg period.
Excursions by mountain bike
Excursions to discover Kras by cycling in the heart of nature, with the possibility to visit, during the trip, interesting historical sites and picturesque villages where time seems to have stopped.
Speleological excursions
The Kras near Trieste has thousands of natural cavities and grottos. A must see is the Grotta Gigante (Giant Grotto), the biggest cavity in the world. A few kilometres from there, in Slovenia, there are the famous Grottos of Postumia and S. Canziano.

By car
People coming from Venice - Udine - Villach have to take the A4 Motorway and exit at the end, then take the expressway Duino-Aurisina, exiting in Duino. Head towards Sistiana by following the road signs.
By train
The nearest railway station is that of Trieste. From the railway station of Trieste leaves the bus to Sistiana. Get off at the stop of Mare Pineta.
By plane
From the airport of Ronchi dei Legionari there are several buses that go to Sistiana, stopping in Mare Pineta.
