Description of the campsite
Mazet-Plage camp site lies at the entrance to the 'Bois de Païolive' beside the Chassezac river.
Located in typical surrounding in the middle of unspoilt natural countryside, the Mazet-Plage camp site has 100 quiet and shady plots, and we do everything to ensure a friendly, family atmosphere.
You will enjoy a peaceful stay with us in pleasant, restful surroundings only 6 kms from Les Vans and 20 kms from Vallon Pont d'Arc.
The camp site bar and restaurant (in July and August) offer the opportunity to relax every day, with pizzas, salads, and grills to eat on the spot or take away. There is also a grocery shop.
In Casteljau you can explore several rock climbing sites, with in particular the Mazet crag which is only a 5-minute walk from the camp site.
The Chassezac river can be descended by canoe or kayak, allowing you to admire the magnificent cliffs and gorges.
The canoes and kayaks arrival point is on the camp site beach.
There is also a remarkable choice of pathways suitable for all through the 'Bois de Païolive' and surrounding countryside, allowing you to get closer to the surprisingly rich and varied animal and plant life.
So whether your idea of a holiday is plenty of time to laze, practise your favourite sport or cultural activities, Mazet-Plage will be your ideal starting point.
