This amazing UNESCO biosphere reserve serves as a breeding ground for about 120 bird species and numerous species of animals, such as the European beaver, the peregrine falcon and the black stork. To the East of Prague lies the broken landscape of the Žďárské Vrchy nature area. This fascinating area is made up of magnificent wet peat meadows, lush, green forests and a range of protected species of plants and animals, such as alpine deer grass, fire salamanders, pygmy owls and the black woodpecker.

Prague is widely regarded as one of Europe’s most beautiful cities. It’s Gothic and Baroque architecture create a magically bohemian setting, straight out of a fairytale. The city has over 1.2 million inhabitants, is divided by the picturesque river Vitava and close to your campsite. Prague also offers the best of both worlds. The old town is rich in history, culture and architecture, with some fabulous sights, such as the Astronomical Clock and the famous Charles Bridge. Contemporary Prague offers the best in art, dining and entertainment in the Czech republic.

Lovers of Gothic architecture head for Kutná Hora, about an hour east of Prague. Home to St. Barbara’s Church, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most famous Gothic churches in the Czech republic. This remarkable little town is most famous for the Sedlec Ossuary, better known as the bone church. This small chapel is decorated with the bones and skulls of some 70,000 people who died during the Black Plague in the 14th century.

Set by the banks of the Lusatian Neisse river and surrounded by the Jizera Mountains, Liberec, the Czech republic’s 5th city is a marvelously relaxed affair, with tree lined streets full of old mansions, beautiful botanic gardens and some fantastic museums, such as the Art Museum of North Bohemia and the Ferdinand Porsche museum.
