Recommended by our region specialist

"A lovely campsite in a jewel of a bay, 5km from the historic centre of Rovinj. Private beach, swimming pool, gormet restaurants. Top place for swimming and water sports, closely followed by lazing around!"

The enchanting town of Rovinj calls from just 5km away. Immerse yourself in the small narrow streets of the car-free centre. In the port the fishermen proudly show their catch as they tie their 'batanas' to the quayside. These wooden boats are a tradition here.

Some tips for your holiday at Vestar in Rovinj

  • There are some views you simply should not miss, and one of these is from the top of the bell tower of the Church St. Euphemia in Rovinj. Climb the stairs of the 17th century tower for an amazing view out to sea over the red roofs of the town.

  • Istria is overflowing with natural beauty. Admire the famous Brijuni Islands and the Bat of Lim.
  • Head inland and explore the green countryside. Take a break in the fortified town of Motovun, or in the smallest town in the world: Hum.
  • There's one city that you really should visit: Pula, 30km further south. The Roman arena here is now the stage for all manner of cultural performances. Far removed from when gladiators battled for life or death here.
  • Experienced divers can explore the wreck of the Baron Gautsch that lies 40m deep. This Austrian steam passenger ship sank of the coast here in 1914.
