Camping de Maillac

Camping de Maillac is a small, quiet family campsite set in lush woodland in Sainte-Nathalène, just 6km from the popular medieval town of Sarlat. It’s the perfect place to really unwind and to explore the beautiful countryside of the Dordogne. Kids love the pool and playground and the friendly entertainment team make sure all the family have a fun camping holiday.

Sainte-Nathalène is a small, pretty village in the Dordogne in the south west of France. It is close to the popular, historical town of Sarlat-la-Canéda ( 6km) and not far from the beautiful Chateau villages of Castelnaud-la-Chapelle and Bynac (18km) that rest on the banks of the River Dordogne.

  • History lovers visit the caves of Lascaux near Montignac (26 km), to see over 600 prehistoric wall paintings tell the story of ancient cave life.
  • Combine culture with fine cuisine in Sarlat-la-Canéda (6km), one of the best preserved medieval towns in France. Stroll the ancient streets from the cathedral on place du Peyrou, to one of the terraced restaurants on the Place de la Liberté and enjoy the local speciality, succulent duck breast!
  • Take a trip back in time at the 'museum of war and the middle ages' at Chateau de Castelnaud (20 km), near Domme. Its impressive collection of arms and medieval war machines give you a fascinating glimpse into castle life in medieval times.
  • Looking for that perfect photo opportunity? Then a trip to Beynac (18 km), one of the most beautiful villages in France is a must. Wander the picturesque narrow streets to the chateau at the top of the village for some stunning views over the Dordogne river.
  • Want a spectacular day out for all the family? Head for the 15th century Chateau des Milandes in Castelnaud-la-Chapelle ( 21 km), to see the incredible daily Birds of Prey show. Watch falcons, hawks, owls and eagles swoop into action in the gorgeous gardens of the chateau.
  • Fancy seeing the stunning surroundings from the water? Visit La Roque-Gageac (18 km), a picture postcard village on the north bank of the Dordogne River. Go on a river cruise in a traditional 'gabares' boat and enjoy the sights in a really relaxing 1 hour trip.
  • Treat the kids to a day out in Quercyland in Souillac (19 km). There’s everything there to guarantee a great day for the family. An aquapark, 5 solar-heated swimming pools, giant water slides, mini-golf, inflatable castles, trampolines and paddle boats. There’s also a tree top adventure park.
