The surrounding area of campsite Le Parc du Val de Loire, Mesland
Mesland is a perfect starting point for a gentle bike ride or a walk through the vineyards of the Loire region. Charming towns, each with a long historic background, are to be found in abundance. The cities of Blois and Orleans ooze French modern history and are cultural centres not to be missed. Blois is just 25km from the campsite and is home to one of the most famous of the chateaux, complete with its impressive staircase. The region is well known for its many chateaux and convents, Chenonceaux being considered one of the best with its magnificent French architecture. A visit to the village of Trôo is also a pleasant way to spend a day. This village is famous for its cave houses, many of which are still inhabited. It is also a centre for artists who perhaps visit to paint the church of Saint Martin Butte, which towers over from the village from a high. Trôo is situated on the old Roman road running between Tours and Paris, not far from the campsite.
