The surrounding area of camping L'Océano d'Or, Jard-sur-Mer
About twenty kilometres south of Les Sables d'Olonne is the charming village of Jard-sur-Mer. This is a wooded area, which attracts many birds. Besides a pleasant beach, the village also has a bustling harbour with many pleasure boats. The centre often has a morning market and during this time the centre is closed to all motorised vehicles.Some tips for your holiday at camping L'Océano d'Or in Jard-sur-Mer:
- For a day without the beach, a bike ride through the lovely countryside is a nice idea. This region, which is now peaceful, used to be a famous resistance centre against the French authorities during the war of faith and the French revolution. Enjoy the untouched landscape with its many streams, woods and sunflower fields.
- Close by, in nearby Talmont-Saint-Hilaire, is the ruin of the Château de Talmont. This is where plays from the era of knights are performed - nice for an outing with the kids.
