The French mountains that border Spain are quite different to the Alps. The mountains are very rugged and more challenging with steep paths and roads, perfect for high-altitude activities such as rafting, mountain biking, climbing and healthy mountain walks. The longest French walking route is the GR 10, which runs across the northern slopes of this area. You can reach the route by taking the small railway that will transport you 1000m up the mountain.
