Why camping Le Lac de Bairon?
  • The location at the lake and the safe sandy beach make this campsite an ideal choice for families with young children. In high season the beach is watched over by professional lifeguards.
  • You can cycle and walk along old Roman roads, and there's a sailing school at the lake.
  • There are good views over the lake from the campsite.

The surrounding area of camping Le Lac de Bairon, Le Chesne

The Champagne-Ardennes regions are among the quietest areas in the north of France, but that doesn't mean there is nothing to do there. Apart from the water-based fun the lake offers, there are beautiful forests and plenty of cycle paths that are fairly flat. In the river Aisne basin you'll find pleasant small towns too.

Some tips for your holiday at camping Le Lac de Bairon in Le Chesne:
  • The pleasant village of Le Chesne is situated just near the lake at the Canal des Ardennes. You can watch the private boats go by whilst enjoying a drink on one of the terraces.
  • The cathedral city of Reims is not far from here.
  • For tennis lovers an interesting place is Vouziers, beside the river Aisne. This is where you will find the grave of Roland Garros, French World War 1 hero and aeroplane pioneer. The tennis courts where the Open French Tennis Championship take place are named after him.
