The surrounding area of camping Les Méditerranées, Marseillan-Plage

Marseillan-Plage is located close to Agde and Béziers, where a stretch of land separates the Mediterranean and the Bassin de Thau, a large lagoon covering 75km2.

Some tips for your holiday at camping Les Méditerranées in Marseillan-Plage:
  • Visit the pleasant city of Sète which is full of history, shops and terraces.
  • The Marseillan-Plage harbour is set close to the where the water flows into the Bassin de Thau. This is the largest lagoon in Languedoc-Roussillon and is home to more than half the oyster beds in France. The salt banks also provide a living for many of the locals.
  • Marseillan is also where the Canal du Midi meets the sea. It's the oldest canal in Europe, initially constructed to connect the Mediterranean and Atlantic Ocean. It's a popular waterway and the old horse tow path alongside the canal is now a well-shaded cycling route to Béziers.
