Camping Le Grand Dague, Atur / Périgueux

A top class campsite near the village of Atur, which has easy access from the A89 and is also very close to Périgueux, the historic capital of the Dordogne. The region is often called by its ancient name of Périgord. A pleasant family campsite for a great holiday.

Why camping Le Grand Dague?
  • There's a covered play area and the swimming pool has been expanded to a lovely lagoon style pool with an exciting pirates' ship.
  • The new and exciting wild water river provides lots of water fun for both children and adults.
  • A multi-sports ground and a jeu de boules area was opened on 1st July 2011. A Spray Park is planned for 2012
  • An extended entertainment programme is available for all ages. There are daily sports and games with professional trainers and in the evening you can enjoy the music.
  • The restaurant has an international menu and a large pleasant terrace. The sports bar will appeal to many as you can watch sports events throughout the day.

The surrounding area of camping Le Grand Dague, Atur / Périgueux

A holiday in the Dordogne should always include an excursion to Périgueux. The ancient capital of the Périgord (also the former name of the Dordogne region) was founded in the year 16BC. The remains of a Roman temple discovered in 1959 prove this and the history of the region can be seen in the Gallo-Roman museum Vesunna.

Some tips for your holiday at camping Le Grand Dague in Atur / Périgueux:
  • Lovers of culture and history will enjoy exploring the surrounding area.
  • Wander down the narrow streets of the old city centre and enjoy this delightful place. Périgueux also has a flower festival, an annual mime festival and a singing contest to win the Golden Truffle.
  • Visit Bergerac on the Dordogne river.
  • Enjoy a pleasant canoe trip.
