Camping Domaine de Ker Ys, St-Nic

Ker Ys is the name of a mythical city (Ker means 'city' in Breton language) that once must have been set in the Douarnenez bay and, according to a local legend, was washed away by a flood. Situated near the beach, camping Domaine de Ker Ys is well protected against the elements.

Why camping Domaine de Ker Ys?
  • There's plenty of water-based fun at the campsite. Children have a great time playing in the well-designed swimming pool with waterslides and the separate children's pool.
  • There is a boules pitch, games hall and sports field.
  • Right behind the campsite is a lovely long, sandy beach.

The surrounding area of camping Domaine de Ker Ys, St-Nic

The village of Saint-Nic is on the peninsula separating the bays of Douarnenez and Brest. Almost the entire peninsula is covered by the Armorique national park, and it also acts as a wave breaker for both bays. The Saint-Nic beaches therefore are wide and sheltered against the north-westerly winds.

Some tips for your holiday at camping Domaine de Ker Ys in St-Nic:
  • Apart from an impressive nature there are also picturesque cities like the medieval Locronan and Quimper with its large cathedral.
  • The city of Brest, and also Camaret at the edge of the peninsula, are worth a day trip.
  • Above all you will enjoy the Breton atmosphere and the pleasant village fairs with music, local food and dancers in traditional costumes.
