Montclar is south of the beautiful Lac de Serre Poncon, in the French Alps. Rafting, canoeing and kayaking can all be enjoyed both at the lake and on the Durance and Ubaye rivers. The rugged landscape with its high moutains, the lovely Provencal climate, magnificent rock formations and flowering rivers leave a lasting impression.

• Enjoy a pleasant trip to the town of Barcelonette. The journey will take you along a road through the mountains and along the Ubaye. South of Barcelonette you ca travel over the Col d'Allos (2240m high), the Col de la Cayolle (2326m high) and the Col de Bonette (2802m high). The views are wounderful and you might even see some groundhogs.
• Visit the Italian town of Cuneo with its wide streets and pleasant squares.
• On the eastern side of Lac de Serre Poncon, you will see some unusual formations in the rock faces created by many centuries of erosion.
