Visit the picturesque medieval castle and prison Palais de l'Isle, the magnificent Château d'Annecy and the delightfully romantic Pont des Amours. Want to really relax? The head for the spa town of Aix les Bains on Lake Bourget . It’s just a 30 minute drive from your campsite and full of fascinating historical sights, such as the Roman Temple of Diana. Art lovers go to Chambery to The Musée des Beaux-Arts or to the municipal museum of Fine Arts in Grenobles to enjoy the stunning masterpieces on display. Then take the Bubble shaped cable car to the top of La Bastille Hill and visit the 18th-century fortress there. When camping by Lake Annecy, a trip to Geneva is a must. Head into the old town to see the 1000 year old Saint Peter’s Cathedral, then have lunch in the sublime surroundings by the beautiful lake.
